JUMPSUIT:

The Rational Dress Society is a counter-fashion collective founded by myself, and Los Angeles-based artist Maura Brewer. Together we produce JUMPSUIT, an open source, ungendered monogarment to replace all clothes in perpetuity.

JUMPSUIT has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and has been nominated twice for a prestigious Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award. The project was shown as part of the exhibition Items: is Fashion Modern at the MoMA, New York and the RDS has been commissioned to create new works for Art In General in Brooklyn, New York, for Human Rights Watch International.

The RDS has been covered in the Guardian, The Paris Review, CBS national news, the Huffington Post, Refinery 29, New York Magazine’s The Cut, the Canadian and Australian Broadcast Corporations, and magazines Dirty Furniture, Surface, Nylon, and Flaunt among numerous others.

Shows include an exhibition in Moss Norway and inclusion in the Oxford University Press publication “The Oxford Handbook of Communist Visual Cultures.” JUMPSUIT has been adopted into the curriculum of California State University, Los Angeles and Columbia College Chicago.
